Church of Santa Maria

Address: Via Gramsci, 10e - Castelbellino
Built in the late fifteenth or early sixteenth century in the area belonging to the Roman Basilica of St. John Lateran.
The fresco on the high altar dating back to 1508 represents the traditional image of the Madonna and Child who is protecting the Christian people under her cloak.
The altar on the left side, in Baroque style, was once adorned with a painting by Van Schayck.
In front of it there was another altar with a painting of the same artist. Visit the two completely restored altarpieces in Villa Coppetti Museum.
The great historical and artistic importance of this church is inextricably linked to the religious sentiment of the country.
