The church dedicated to Pope St. Sylvester (314-335) was built between 1768 and 1795 by the architect Mattia Capponi (1720-1803) from Cupramontana. Since 1828 it has been preserving some remains from the demolished church of Santa Chiara in Jesi (ex-Appanage area): the choir and two gilded wood choirs made in 1711 by the sculptor Angelo Scoccianti from Cupramontana (1674-1726). You can admire also two paintings Stefano Casabona from Genova, one on the high altar (1794) and the other on the second altar (1797) on the right side. The two paintings at the main altar depict St. Lorenzo’s Martyrdom (by Antonio Sarti;1580-1647)and "Madonna of Loreto, bishop and saints" (by an anonymous painter). The prestigious wooden crucifix dating the XVI-XVII centuries meets a deep devotion. The organ is by Francesco Cioccolanti from Cingoli and was built in 1833.
