Address: - - Poggio San Marcello
San Marcello
Dating back to the twelfth century, it was first mentioned in 1290 in Rationes. It was the first local parish and it is located on the top of the hill overhanging the castle and city walls.
Here you can admire a fresco (XVI century) by the school of Fra Angelico or Fabrianesi.
Santa Maria del Monte
The first evidence dates back to 1130; unfortunately the only remains of its old wall called “Place of Worship” are of the sixteenth century while the holy-water font dates back to the eighteenth century.
According to tradition, Santa Maria del Monte is the protectress of women in labour.
