The Church of San Marco

Address: Via Pantiere - Castelbellino
Its construction began in 1767 on the project of the architect Massaccio Mattia Capponi (1720-1803 and was completed in 1787.
Built in stone, it has a nave with four side chapels; the altarpiece on the high altar depicting St. Marco is a painting by Vincenzo Monti 1938.
The altars on the left side are dedicated to the Crucified and to S. Joseph, those on the right side are dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and to Jesus’ Holy Heart.
In the inner walls of the church, and more exactly in special niches, you can admire the statues of St. Peter,S. Francis, St. Paul, St. Luigi Gonzaga and St. Catherine.
