The castle walls date back to the fourteenth or fifteenth century; partly restored, they still have a great charm; some parts in the south-east and north-west area fell during the earthquake of 24 April 1741.

Along the oval ring of the walls some houses have been recently built.

On the west tower  you can find the so-called "Throne Room" whose decorations date back to the first or second decade of the nineteenth century.
